• Utilizzare sempre attrezzature ed utensili di ottima qualità.
• Utilizzare, per il sollevamento del motoveicolo, attrez-
zatura conforme alle Direttive Europee.
• Mantenere, durante le operazioni, gli attrezzi a portata di
mano, possibilmente secondo una sequenza predetermi-
nata e comunque mai sul veicolo o in posizioni nascoste
o poco accessibili.
• Mantenere ordinata e pulita la postazione di lavoro.
• Per serrare viti e dadi, iniziare da quelli di diametro mag-
giore oppure quelli interni, procedendo a "croce", con "ti-
rate" successive.
• I valori di coppia indicati nel manuale si riferiscono al
"serraggio finale", che deve essere raggiunto progressi-
vamente, con passate successive.
• L'impiego più corretto delle chiavi fisse (a forchetta), è in
"tirata" e non in "spinta".
• Le chiavi registrabili a rullino (F. 1)
sono da utilizzare in condizioni di
emergenza, quando cioè si è
sprovvisti della chiave della giusta
dimensione. Durante lo sforzo, in-
fatti, la ganascia mobile tende ad
"aprirsi", con possibile danneggia-
mento del bullone; si ottiene inoltre
un momento torcente non affidabi-
le. Utilizzarle comunque come illu-
strato in Figura 1.
• Prima di iniziare qualsiasi intervento sul motoveicolo,
attendere il completo raffreddamento di ogni compo-
nente.
• Se le operazioni prevedono l'impegno di due tecnici, è
indispensabile che, preventivamente, essi si accordino
per mansioni e sinergie.
• Verificare sempre il corretto montaggio di ogni compo-
nente, prima di montarne un altro.
• Lubrificare le parti (previste), prima del rimontaggio.
• Le guarnizioni, gli anelli di tenuta, gli anelli elastici e le copi-
glie vanno sempre sostituiti, ad ogni loro smontaggio.
• Le operazioni di allentamento e serraggio delle parti in lega
di alluminio (carter) vanno effettuate a motore freddo .
• Utilizzare sempre cacciaviti di dimensioni adatte alle viti
sulle quali si deve agire.
• Only use quality tools and equipment.
• Only use equipment conforming to EU Directives for
lifting the vehicle.
• During operations, always keep tools and equipment at hand,
possibly laying them out according to the sequence in whi-
ch they are to be used. Absolutely avoid putting them on the
vehicle itself, out-of-sight or in poorly accessible places.
• Always keep the work area neat and clean.
• When tightening screws or nuts, start with the larger dia-
meter or inner fasteners, and tighten them in progressive
"pulls" using a "criss-cross" pattern.
• The torque settings specified in the manual refer to the
"final torque", which must be attained progressively by
steps.
• Preferably use open-end box wrenches by "pulling" and
not "pushing".

• Before carrying out any operation, wait for all parts
to cool down.
• For operations requiring two mechanics, make sure that
the various steps to be performed by each of them are
clearly defined and co-ordinated beforehand.
• Make sure that each component has been properly
mounted before proceeding with assembling the next one.
• Lubricate all parts (where applicable) before reinstalling them.
• Always replace gaskets, O-rings, circlips and split pins
at every refitting.
• Loosen and tighten aluminium alloy parts (covers) only
after the engine has fully cooled down.
• Only use screwdrivers with sizes suitable to the screws
to be loosened or tightened.

must be used only in case of
emergency, that is to say when the
right size wrench is not available.
In fact, when force is applied, the
mobile vice tends to open and this
may cause damage to the bolts and
also result in a scarcely reliable
tightening torque. Always use the
wrenches as indicated in Figure 1.
