Retrieving trace results
This chapter describes how to retrieve data from standard traces.
For spectrograms see also
on page 858.
For details on the format of the retrieved trace data see also
mats for returned values: ASCII format and binary
Commands required to export traces (and other result data) are described in
ter 10.9.5, "Storing measurement
FORMat[:DATA]
TRACe<n>[:DATA]
TRACe<n>[:DATA]:MEMory?
TRACe<n>[:DATA]:X?
FORMat[:DATA] <Format>[, <BitLength>]
This command selects the data format that is used for transmission of trace data from
the R&S FPL1000 to the controlling computer.
Note that the command has no effect for data that you send to the R&S FPL1000. The
R&S FPL1000 automatically recognizes the data it receives, regardless of the format.
For details on data formats see

ASCii
ASCii format, separated by commas.
This format is almost always suitable, regardless of the actual
data format. However, the data is not as compact as other for-
mats may be.
REAL
Floating-point numbers (according to IEEE 754) in the "definite
length block format".
In the Spectrum application, the format setting REAL is used for
the binary transmission of trace data.
Length in bits for floating-point results
16
16-bit floating-point numbers.
Compared to REAL,32 format, half as many numbers are
returned.
