CAUTION: Prior to lowering the monitor, ensure that no objects, such as the USB flash drive, are located in the
monitor storage basin Use care when lowering the monitor into the monitor storage basin; do not use excessive
force to avoid damaging the monitor
CAUTION: Use care when lowering the touch screen monitor to avoid the potential for pinching fingers
12 Cover the Visual-ICE Cryoablation System with the Console cover
Changing Gas Cylinders during a Procedure
If it becomes necessary to replace a gas cylinder during a procedure, stop all freezing and thawing operations
Standard Gas Cylinder Setup
1 Plan the appropriate time to make a cylinder change by estimating the gas required to complete the procedure
The Gas Indicator on the Navigation Tool Bar indicates how much time is remaining in each gas cylinder based
on the selected gas flow intensity, type and number of needles being used Also, consider the number of
planned freeze-thaw cycles for the procedure
2 Safely position a full gas cylinder, with the required gas type and purity, near the empty cylinder
3 Close and tighten the cylinder valves of both gas cylinders
4 Slowly open the Manual Vent Valve to discharge gas from the system and the high-pressure gas supply line
Wait until all the pressure is released and both gauges on the gas supply lines indicate zero pressure
5 Use the wrench to remove the gauge assembly from the empty cylinder
6 Connect the gauge assembly to the full cylinder
7 Close and tighten the Manual Vent Valve
8 Carefully turn the cylinder valve on the helium gas cylinder counterclockwise for one quarter turn Ensure that
the pressure reading on the gauge responds immediately Turn the cylinder valve further counterclockwise to
open the gas cylinder so that sufficient gas flow is present
9 Carefully turn the cylinder valve on the argon gas cylinder counterclockwise for one quarter turn Ensure that the
pressure reading on the gauge responds immediately Turn the cylinder valve further counterclockwise to open
the gas cylinder so that sufficient gas flow is present If no argon pressure is displayed on the Gas Indicator,
ensure the Argon Shutoff Valve is OPEN
10 Continue the cryoablation procedure at the next planned freeze or thaw phase
Disconnecting a Helium Cylinder
If helium is connected, i-Thaw Function, FastThaw Function and cautery functions are disabled To use i-Thaw Function,
FastThaw Function, and cautery functions, helium must be disconnected and the lines cleared of helium
1 Close both the argon and helium cylinder valves
2 Open the Manual Vent Valve to discharge gas from the system and the high-pressure gas supply lines Wait
until all the pressure is released and both pressure gauges on the Navigation Tool Bar indicate zero pressure
3 Close the Manual Vent Valve
4 Slowly open the argon cylinder valve one quarter to one half of a turn Allow pressure to build on the argon
pressure gauge Open the argon cylinder valve fully for sufficient argon flow
Dual Gas Cylinder Connection
1 Safely position a full argon gas cylinder, with the required purity, near the empty cylinder
2 Close and tighten the cylinder valve of the empty gas cylinder
3 Open the Manual Vent Valve to discharge gas from the system and the high-pressure gas supply lines Wait
until all the pressure is released and the pressure gauge(s) on the Navigation Tool Bar indicate zero pressure
