Check the motor for sound.
Sound
Check the manual valve for tightness.
Tight
Check for oil leaking from the power trim/tilt
assembly.
Not leaking
Check the oil level with the piston rod fully
extended (P. 14-35).
Normal
Check for air in the system.
No air in the system
Power trim/tilt assembly faulty.
Repair the faulty part by referring to the
QUICK REFERENCE CHART (P. 2-53).
No sound
Perform "POWER TRIM/TILT MOTOR DOES
NOT OPERATE"
troubleshooting (P. 2-52).
Loose Tighten the manual valve to the specified
torque.
TORQUE: 1.7 N . m (0.2 kgf . m, 1.3 lbf . ft)
Leaking
Replace the O-rings and/or oil seals at the
leaking points.
Low level Add the oil up to the specified level
(P. 14-35).
Air in the system
Bleed air from the system (P. 14-35).
