c. INSPECTION
• FLOAT VALVE
Check the float valve head for scores, scratches, wear or
damage.
• FLOAT
Check the float for damage or deformation, and check for
gasoline in the float.
• FLOAT HEIGHT
After checking the float valve, check the float height by
installing the float properly.
1) Place the vapor separator as shown. Set the special tool
(float level gauge) at right angles to the float chamber
mating surface.
TOOL:

2) Measure the distance between the float and vapor
separator cover (i.e. float height) at the center of the float.
Float height
26.8 - 29.8 mm (1.06 - 1.17 in)
3) If the measurement is outside the specification, adjust the
float height by gently bending the float tab taking care not
to damage the float.
4) Check the float for smooth movement.
