• Pressure Regulator Inspection
WARNING
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive.
You can be burned or seriously injured when handling fuel.
• Keep heat, sparks and flame away.
• Wipe up spills immediately.
• Handle fuel only outdoors.
1) Check that the pressure regulator control tube is not bent,
disconnected or damaged.
2) Relieve the fuel pressure according to "How to Relieve Fuel
Pressure" (P. 5-79).
3) Remove the service check bolt and set the special tool (fuel
pressure gauge set) in the threaded bolt hole.

4) Start the engine and measure the fuel pressure at idle.
5) Disconnect the pressure regulator control tube from the
intake manifold. Plug the blind plug into the intake
manifold.
6) Clamp the pressure regulator control tube with a
commercially available tube clip.
7) Check that the fuel pressure is higher than the pressure
measured in step 4.
8) If the fuel pressure is not higher than the pressure
measured in step 4, replace the pressure regulator.
