6) TP sensor power line short-circuit inspection
a. Connect the ECM connector B
the TP sensor 3P connector
b. Turn the combination switch ON and check the MIL.
Does the MIL go OFF?
YES - Replace the throttle body.
NO - Go to the step c.
c. Turn the combination switch OFF and disconnect
the ECM connector B

d. Check for continuity between the TP sensor 3P
connector main wire harness side No.1

(Brown/Yellow) terminal and the engine ground.

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair short in the main wire harness
between the ECM and the TP sensor.
NO - Go to "7) Trim angle sensor power line short-
circuit inspection" (Power trim/tilt type only).
Go to "8) ECM power line inspection" (Gas
assisted type only).
