• MAP SENSOR TROUBLESHOOTING
MIL blinks 3 times
1) Symptom reproduction test
a. Turn the combination switch OFF. Disconnect MAP
sensor 3P connector
again.
b. Reset the ECM (P. 5-43).
c. Turn the combination switch ON and check the
number of blinks of the MIL.
Does the MIL blink 3 times?
YES - Go to "2) MAP sensor power line open-circuit
inspection."
NO - Temporary failure (Disappears.)

2) MAP sensor power line open-circuit inspection
a. Turn the combination switch OFF and disconnect
the MAP sensor 3P connector
b. Turn the combination switch ON. Measure the
voltage between the MAP sensor 3P connector
main wire harness side N.1 (Brown/Yellow)
terminal and the engine ground.

VIEWED FROM THE TERMINAL SIDE
Is the measurement within 4.75 - 5.25V?
YES - Go to "3) MAP sensor signal line open-circuit
inspection."
NO - Repair open in the main wire harness
between the ECM and the MAP sensor.
