Does the MIL comes ON for 2
seconds and warning buzzer sound
twice?
YES
Does the warning buzzer sound twice
and then keep sounding?
NO
Does the starter motor turn properly?
YES
Is the fuel at or near the specified
level?
YES
Loosen the vapor separator drain
screw and check the fuel flow.
Does the fuel flow properly?
YES
Remove the spark plug and check the
electrodes.
Are the electrodes dry?
NO
Let the electrodes dry thoroughly
and try to start the engine again.
Does the engine start?
NO
Go to P. 2-21

Add fuel up to the specified level.
Perform the following checks.
• Check for collapsed fuel tube.
• Check for open fuel tank vent knob.
• Check the primer bulb for air leaks.
• Squeeze the primer bulb and check
that gasoline reaches the vapor
separator.
