Replacement:
1) Place the outboard motor on a level surface, and position
the outboard motor vertically (with the gear case level).

Tilt up the outboard motor.

2) Remove the oil check bolt and the drain plug bolt, and drain
the used oil in a suitable container.
Replace the O-rings on reassembly.

3) Tilt the outboard motor down until the gear case is level.

Install a commercially available gear oil pump in the drain
plug bolt hole.

4) Add the oil until it flows out of the oil check bolt hole.

5) After adding the gear oil, apply clean gear oil to the new O-
rings and install them on the drain plug bolt and the oil

check bolt.

6) Reinstall the oil check bolt on the gear case and tighten
them to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 6.5 N . m (0.7 kgf . m, 4.8 lbf . ft)
7) Remove a commercially available gear oil pump. Reinstall
the drain plug bolt on the gear case and tighten them to the
specified torque.
TORQUE: 6.5 N . m (0.7 kgf . m, 4.8 lbf . ft)
