5) Start the engine.
Run the engine under no load until the engine speed
stabilizes, and check the idle speed. (Idle speed inspection

must be made with the engine warmed up to the normal
operating temperature.)

Throttle Rod Adjustment:

1) Remove the engine cover (P. 4-2).

2) Remove the remote control cable [throttle side] from the
throttle arm (P. 3-19).

3) Bring the throttle arm in contact with the full open stopper
A of the throttle arm bracket.

4) With the throttle arm in the position described in step 3,
14
measure the clearance between the throttle lever and the
full open stopper B of the throttle body. It must be 1 mm
15
(0.04 in) or below.
5) When the throttle arm does not come in contact with the

full open stopper A or the clearance is more than 1 mm,
adjust as follows.

6) Remove the throttle rod from the throttle cam.

Loosen the 5 mm hex nut of the throttle rod and adjust the
length of the throttle rod by turning the linkage pivot.
After adjustment, tighten the 5 mm hex nut securely.

7) Install the throttle rod on the throttle cam and recheck.

8) Install the remote control cable [throttle side] in the throttle
arm (P. 3-19).
9) Install the engine cover (P. 4-2).
