Circuito di raffreddamento.
L'impianto di raffreddamento è del tipo a circolazione forzata con pompa centrifuga (1 ) situata sul lato sinistro del motore e radiatore
(2) di grandi dimensioni a flusso verticale.
Un serbatoio di espansione (3) compensa le dilatazioni termiche del liquido e delle cavità interne della testa e del cilindro, provvedendo
a mantenere l'impianto completamente pieno in ogni condizione.
La temperatura del liquido di raffreddamento, regolata da apposito termostato (4), è indicata da un termometro (5) azionato da un
termistore (6) situato sulla testa cilindro.
L'apertura del termostato avviene quando la temperatura del liquido di refrigerazione raggiunge i 65°C circa, pertanto sino a quel
momento il circuito di raffreddamento esclude il radiatore. Raggiunti i 65°C circa si ha l'apertura del termostato con conseguente
passaggio del liquido nel radiatore.
Cooling system.
The cooling system is of forced-circulation type with a centrifugal pump (1) located on the L.h. side of the engine and a big-size vertical
flow radiator (2).
An expansion tank (3) compensates the thermal expansions of the coolant and the internal cavities of the head and cylinder, keeping
the system completely full in all conditions. .
The temperature of the coolant is adjusted by a suitable thermostat (4) and is indicated by a thermometer (5) actuated by a thermistor
(6) located on the cylinder head.
The thermostat opens when the the coolant temperature attains approx. 149°F, therefore till that time the cooling system cuts out the
radiator. After attaining approx. 149°F, the thermostat opens and the coolant passes into the radiator.
