rinse the suction line (e.g. with a small amount of air or physiolog-
ical saline solution), ensure beforehand that the cuff is sufficiently
blocked (risk of aspiration).
•
The suction line may cause pressure points in the area
of the tracheostoma or may cause the tracheostoma to become
irregular. In such cases, the doctor needs to decide whether this
type of tube can still be used.

Cleaning, Disinfection and Storage
10.1
Cleaning
The tube (1 + 3) needs to be cleaned before reuse. Lukewarm
potable water can be used for cleaning. TRACOE medical recom-
mends the use of the cleaning products offered by TRACOE for
cleaning. Once the tubes have been cleaned, rinse with potable
water and air-dry. When cleaning the outer cannulas, take care
not to damage the cuff.
CAUTION:
•
Never use aggressive domestic cleaning agents, cleaning
agents for dentures or solvents with a high alcohol content, for ex-
ample, as these may have a lasting adverse effect on the function.
•
Do not heat the tubes to a temperature above 65°C, as the
safety of the products can then no longer be guaranteed.
10.2
Disinfection
Should disinfection appear necessary, TRACOE medical can
provide a list of tested disinfectants on request. This list is also
available at www.tracoe.com. The use of unsuitable disinfectants
can result in damage to the product.
Once the tubes have been disinfected, rinse with sterile water
and air-dry.
10.3
Storage
Store the clean tube in a dry location.
