Translux Power Blue
NOTE!
A damaged or inefficient fibre optic must be replaced because the luminous power is otherwise
considerably reduced.
CAUTION!
Prior to every exposure cycle, check that the light intensity is sufficient at the integrated light
sensor. If the luminous power is insufficient, patients must not be treated
(see paragraph 6.5 Light intensity measurement, page 33).
DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Do not short circuit the electrical contacts of the hand piece (see fig. 4) with metal objects or
liquids.
NOTE!
Direct contact between the fibre optic and polymerisation material must be avoided in the first
few seconds of exposure. Polymerised composite material residues at the light-emission
surface of the fibre optic obstruct light emission and negatively affect the subsequent
polymerisation cycles.
With Translux Power Blue
•
Fast: Exposure times of 10 or 20 seconds at the maximum light power.
Important:
The Fast function, with an exposure time of 20 seconds, can only be activated in the case of successive, i.e.
repeated, exposures. With the Fast function, it is not possible to start an individual exposure of 20 seconds.
•
Slow rise: exposure time 20 seconds with slowly increasing luminous power in the first three seconds up
to maximum value.
7.2
Selection of Fast exposure (10s - 20s)
Exposure time 10 seconds:
•
Briefly press the button on the hand piece to start the Fast (10 seconds) exposure cycle (see Fig. 2).
•
An acoustic signal (1 beep) is sounded upon commencement.
•
After 10 seconds an acoustic signal (1 beep) is sounded.
•
The Fast (10 seconds) cycle is complete.
Exposure time 20 seconds:
•
Within three seconds of the end of the previous exposure phase, press the button on the hand piece for at
least two seconds.
•
The following acoustic signals are sounded:
1 Beep at the beginning of exposure
1 Beep after two seconds
1 Beep after 10 seconds of exposure time
1 Beep at the end of the 20 seconds of exposure time
7.3
Selection of Slow rise exposure
•
Press and hold in button on the hand piece for two seconds to start the Slow rise exposure cycle
The following acoustics signals are heard:
•
One signal (1 beep) when the button is pressed to start the exposure cycle
•
Another signal (1 beep) 2 seconds after the cycle has started.
(this confirms initialisation of the Slow rise cycle)
•
After 10 seconds another acoustic signal (1 beep) is sounded.
•
After 20 seconds another acoustic signal is sounded. The Slow rise cycle is complete (1 beep).
At the end of the treatment, place the hand piece of the Translux Power Blue
charger (see fig. 3).
