3.2.1

General safety instructions on operating the unit

CAUTION!
DANGER! INTENDED USE
Use the unit only for its intended use (see paragraph 3.1 Intended use, page 26). Any
noncompliance of this regulation can result in serious injury of the patients or operators of the
unit as well as in damage/faults to the unit.
CAUTION!
DANGER! CONTRAINDICATIONS
The unit is not to be used on patients, who have cardiac pacemakers or other electronic
implanted devices. This regulation also applies to the operator.
CAUTION!
DANGER! The owner / user must ensure that the unit is not used on patients with a positive
anamnesis after light testing, for example with solar urticaria and/or porphyria as well as on
patients who have been treated with photosensitising medication.
- Stringent safety precautions are taken with patients that have undergone cataract surgery
and are therefore especially sensitive to light (for example, eye protectors with a blue-light
filter).
- Patients whose anamnesis includes retinal diseases have treatment with Translux Power
TM
Blue
- a specialist doctor is consulted in all potential risk cases.
CAUTION!
Never point the light beam directly on the polymerisation material! Eyes, gums, soft tissue and
other body parts must not be exposed to the light beam (if necessary, these parts must be
provided with suitable protection). In the roof of the mouth, the light effect must be limited to
the area being clinically treated.
3.2.2

General safety instructions on the unit

DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Do not erect the unit in areas with a risk of explosion, where the air is highly inflammable or
where there is a possibility of the air becoming flammable (anaesthetic mixtures,oxygen etc.).
CAUTION!
Before using the unit, check the mains power cable and plug for damage. If they are damaged,
do not connect the unit to the mains.

Safety information for charger / battery

ELECTRIC SHOCK!
Never use the Translux Power Blue
a rechargeable battery! Use only original batteries from Heraeus Kulzer.
CAUTION!
Keep the battery out of the reach of children!
Never open, puncture or crush the battery - it contains poisonous substances.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
Never burn the battery or expose to high temperatures!
Never short circuit the end elements of the battery - risk of burns, fire and explosion!
