Display of empty battery
The battery for the Translux Power Blue
pressed and, at the same time, an acoustic signal (2 beeps) is heard. The hand piece battery indicates empty
status, see paragraph 6.3.1 New battery: initial charging, page 32
6.3.4
Display of defective battery
When the red intensity LED flashes on the charger, this indicates that the battery is malfunctioning.
See paragraph 4.2 Display elements, page 29.
NOTE!
This malfunction interrupts charger operation.
The following must be carried out to restart charger operation:

Remove the hand piece from the charger.

Disconnect the power supply to the charger for a few seconds (pull the mains power cable out of the
socket). All LEDs go off.

Connect the charger once more to the mains: the GREEN LED (3) lights up.

Changing the battery
Replace a defective battery by ordering the spare kit with corresponding assembly instructions from Heraeus
Kulzer. See paragraph 13 Service, page 41.
6.4
Connecting accessories
When using the Translux Power Blue
•
Insert the fibre optic (1) manually into the hand piece (2) by pressing lightly as far as the stop, rotating if
necessary.

Mount the protective guard (3) on the top end of the fibre optic (1)
(see fig. 4).

CAUTION!
Infection control: to make treatment as safe as possible for patients and operators, the fibre
optic and the protective guard must be cleaned, disinfected and sterilised before all treatment.
Follow the instructions listed in paragraph 8 Cleaning, disinfection, sterilisation, page 36 step
by step.

Light intensity measurement
To determine whether light intensity is sufficient, place the fibre optic rod (1) flat and directly on the intensity
sensor (2) and switch on the lamp by pressing the button (3).
