e. REASSEMBLY
1) Apply marine grease to the armature spline, armature
shaft, front washer (black), thrust washers and front washer
(gray).
2) Apply marine grease to the pinion gear of the overrunning
clutch and the circumference of the ball bearing in the front
bracket.
3) Install the front washer (black), thrust washers, front
washer (gray), front bracket, overrunning clutch, a new
pinion return spring and a new pinion stopper on the
armature in this order.
4) Push a new pinion stopper clip into the clip groove using a
pipe of the dimensions shown.
I.D.: approx. 18 mm (0.7 in), O.D.: approx. 22 mm (0.9 in),
Length: approx. 20 mm (0.8 in)
5) Install the stopper cap on the pinion stopper.
