18) Loosen the throttle friction grip of the grip pipe assembly,
and turn the grip pipe assembly clockwise to remove it
from the tiller handle assembly.

19) Remove the throttle friction grip, throttle friction pad and
the throttle friction block from the grip pipe.

20) Open the two harness bands of the wire cover.

Replace the harness bands with new ones on reassembly.
Remove the two 5 x 10 mm screws, and remove the wire

cover.

• Power trim/tilt type only
16 21) Remove the 5 x 8 mm bolt and the 5 mm washer, and
remove the power tilt switch assembly.
Remove the switch grommet and the switch holder from

the power tilt switch.
Check the power tilt switch (P. 16-37) and replace it with a
18
new one if necessary.

• Power trim/tilt type only
Remove the 5 x 8 mm bolt and the 5 mm washer, and

remove the switch holder.
Remove the switch hole grommet.
• Gas assisted type only
