8) Hold the power trim/tilt assembly upright with the piston
rod extended fully, and bring the ATF level to the edge of
the oil filler port. Loosely tighten the oil hole cap.

Set the power trim/tilt assembly on its side with the oil filler

port toward up.
Hold the power trim/tilt assembly upright again, and
3
remove the oil hole cap.
Check that the ATF flows out of the oil filler port.

If it does not, pour the ATF with a syringe or equivalent
5
until it flows out of the oil filler port.
9) Repeat the step 8 several times and check that the ATF
6
flows out of the oil filler port. Loosely tighten the oil hole
cap.

10) Connect the battery cables to the power tilt motor terminals
8
and repeat compressing and extending the piston rod fully
two or three times (P. 14-33).

Hold the power trim/tilt assembly upright with the piston
rod extended fully, and check the ATF level.

• Check the ATF level with the piston rod extended fully.

• Note that the ATF will spout out if the oil hole cap is
removed with the piston rod compressed fully.

11) Connect the battery cables to the power tilt motor
2P connector terminals again to extend the piston rod fully.

12) Remove the oil hole cap and check the ATF level. If the level
is low, pour the ATF with a syringe or equivalent until it
flows out of the oil filler port.

• Check the ATF level with the piston rod extended fully.

• Note that the ATF will spout out if the oil hole cap is
removed with the piston rod compressed fully.

13) Repeat the procedure from the step 10 through the step 12
several times and check that the ATF flows out of the oil

filler port. Loosely tighten the oil hole cap.

14) Install a new O-ring on the oil hole cap, and tighten the oil
hole cap to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 1.1 N . m (0.1 kgf . m, 0.8 lbf . ft)
15) Wipe up the ATF spilled from the cylinder comp.
thoroughly. Operate the power tilt motor and check that the
piston rod moves smoothly.
16) Perform hydraulic pressure inspection (P. 14-36).
