23) Loosen the 10 x 38 mm flange bolt that secures the timing
belt tensioner.
Tighten the 10 x 38 mm flange bolt while pushing the

timing belt tensioner toward out.

24) Remove the timing belt from the pulser rotor first, then
remove the timing belt from the timing pulley.

• Check the timing belt for damage or wear, and replace it
with a new one if necessary.

• Do not remove the timing belt with force using a
screwdriver.

• Take care not to contaminate the timing belt with oil or
grease after removing it.
• Do not bend the timing belt after removing it. Store the

timing belt by hanging it on a wall.

25) Check that the 25 x 18 mm special woodruff key is set on

the crankshaft, then install the special tool on the
crankshaft.

If the 25 x 18 mm special woodruff key is not set on the
crankshaft, set it on the crankshaft (P. 7-14).

26) Loosen the 48 mm lock nut using the special tool as shown.

Holding the crankshaft with the special tool (crankshaft
holder), loosen the 48 mm lock nut using the special tool
(56 mm lock nut wrench).
