15) Install the switch holder on the power tilt switch with the
"UP" mark on the power tilt switch toward the bolt
installation hole in the switch holder as shown [Power

trim/tilt type only].

16) Install the switch grommet on the power tilt switch
assembly.
Install the power tilt switch assembly, and tighten the 5 x 8

mm bolt to the specified torque.

TORQUE: 4.5 N . m (0.5 kgf . m, 3.3 lbf . ft)

• Check that the power tilt switch wire does not interfere
with the throttle rod and the 5 x 8 mm bolt.
• Power trim/tilt type only

Set the switch hole grommet on the switch holder.

Install the switch holder, and tighten the 5 x 8 mm bolt to
the specified torque.

TORQUE: 4.5 N . m (0.5 kgf . m, 3.3 lbf . ft)

17) Install the wire cover, and tighten the two 5 x 10 mm
screws securely.

Set the two new harness bands in the recess on both ends
of the wire cover, and secure the power tilt switch wire and
the wire cover together using the harness bands.

Cut off the excess of each band so it does not interfere with
a neighboring part.

18) Apply marine grease to the grip pipe installation part of the
tiller handle assembly and to the outer surface of the

throttle friction block.
Install the throttle friction block on the tiller handle
assembly aligning the projections on the tiller handle
assembly with the recesses in the friction block.
