K-MINC-2000 Instructions for Use
7. Troubleshooting
The following table displays error conditions and alarms and provides possible solutions. If solutions provided fails to remedy the problem, contact a
Cook Medical service agent.
Error and alarm indicator
MINC+ will not turn on.
Displays do not illuminate.
Numerical error displayed (e.g., 10101).
MINC+ will not heat to correct temperature.
'Temperature out of range' alarm.
Chamber temperature value displayed in red.
'Low inlet gas pressure' alarm.
'CO
' displayed.
2
No gas flow or 'Gas flow out of range' alarm.
No bubbles visible in the front of the
humidification flasks.
Excessive gas consumption.
Low humidification flask water level alarm.
Lid open icon displayed and device emitting
beep every 15 seconds.
Source of error
Power supply cord is not connected.
Mains power is not turned on.
The device is in standby.
Device has internal fault.
Temperature settings not entered correctly.
Set temperature not achieved in time.
Lids open for extended periods.
Device is not operating in functional
environmental conditions.
Gas supply not connected.
Inlet gas pressure below 50 kPa.
Gas lines are kinked.
Gas cylinder changeover unit incompatible
with the MINC+.
Resistance to gas flow from series
connection of multiple devices is too high to
allow multi-unit purging.
Flask is incorrectly installed and is occluding
the flow.
Flasks not installed correctly.
High supply pressure.
Gas connections not secure or damaged.
Gas line damaged.
Not enough water in the humidification
flask.
Wrong water levels are displayed.
A lid latch is not in the closed position.
Lid latch is closed but not engaged with the
bayonet (the lid is propped open slightly).
1-28
Elimination of error
Check the power supply connection.
Turn on the mains power.
Check that the standby indicator is illuminated.
Press the standby touchpad to activate the MINC+.
Allow the MINC+ to run for five minutes, if the error
remains, restart the incubator. If the problem persists,
contact a Cook Medical service agent.
Enter correct temperature settings. If problem
persists, contact a Cook Medical service agent.
Turn heater bay off and on again
Do not leave lids open for extended periods.
Turn heater bay off and on again.
Evaluate device placement.
Check gas supply connection.
The gas flow should recommence in gas purge mode
when the gas supply is reconnected.
Check gas supply pressure is above 50 kPa.
The low inlet gas pressure alarm icon will disappear
when the inlet gas pressure is reinstated above 60 kPa.
The gas flow will recommence in gas purge mode
when the gas supply is reconnected.
Check that gas lines are not obstructed.
The gas flow should recommence in purge mode
when the gas supply is reconnected.
Ensure that the inlet gas pressure to the MINC+ does
not fall below 135 kPa.
The gas flow should recommence in gas purge mode
when the gas supply is reconnected.
Check the regulated pressure is still a nominal 150 kPa
±15 kPa at the last series connected MINC+, with all
series-connected devices purging.
Check the installation of the humidification flask and
that the flask T-piece is correctly installed. Ensure
that the HF filter sleeve from previous flask has been
removed from the HF bay gas nozzle.
Turn flow off and on again. Check the installation of
the humidification flasks. Ensure that the HF filter
sleeve from previous flask has been removed from the
HF bay gas nozzle.
Ensure that the inlet gas pressure to the MINC+ does
not rise above 165 kPa.
Ensure all gas fittings from the cylinder to the MINC+
gas inlet are tight. If error persists, inspect all fittings
for damage to seal surfaces, and replace as necessary.
Replace the gas line.
Replace the humidification flask with a new filled flask.
Restart the incubator. If the problem persists, contact
a Cook Medical service agent.
Close the lid, and move the latch to the closed position.
Open the latch and ensure that the lid is fully closed,
and then the move latch to the closed position.
