3. Tighten the backnut firmly by hand. Use a 9/16 inch wrench (spanner)
to securely tighten the backnut (usually 1/8 turn or less).
4. After applying 150 kPa ± 15 kPa pressure to the line, check that the
gas connections do not leak by brushing them with a brush that has
been dipped in soapy water and then looking for the presence of
bubbles. If bubbles are observed, turn off gas supply, disconnect the
Braided Connecting Tube, and repeat Step 1, retightening the nut
securely if no foreign material is found in the fitting.

4.7.7 Other gas connections
For other gas connections or existing gas delivery systems (e.g., gas
cylinder changeover units or permanently installed gas supply systems),
it is recommended that the user contact the relevant gas equipment
supply center, e.g., BOC Gases or Air Liquide, for installation advice. For
gas connection information, contact your Swagelok distributor
(www.swagelok.com).
4.8 External alarm connection
The MINC+ can be connected to an external alarm system that will alert
staff of alarms that occur outside of business hours. The MINC+ has two
alarm contact configurations: normally open (NO) and normally closed
(NC). Use the MINC+ only with alarm systems that can be activated by
either contact closure or contact opening.
Refer to Figure 4 in Section 4.4 for connection points.
Battery-powered or safety extra-low voltage powered alarm equipment
that does not exceed contact ratings can be connected to the external
alarm terminals. Refer to Section 8 for alarm contact rating.
4.9 Ethernet connection
If the DishTrace PC software will be used, connect the computer on which
the DishTrace PC software is installed either directly to the device with
the supplied ethernet cable or into a local area network connection port.
4.10 Humidification flasks
The MINC+ uses a sterile, disposable humidification flask for each
incubation chamber. The purpose of the flasks is to humidify and direct
gas into each chamber. The flask includes an internal inlet filter to
prevent water from backflowing from the filled flask into the incubator's
internal gas plumbing. The reference part number for reordering the
humidification flasks is K-MINC-2000-HF.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Position the MINC+ in its final front-facing position
before installing the humidification flasks.
WARNING: BIOLOGICAL HAZARD. Do not use a contaminated
humidification flask in the MINC+.
If the humidification flasks are used continuously, then they can be used until
the water level reaches the MIN FILL line on the front of the flask.
If the flasks are not used continuously, then the risk of biological
contamination can increase. When the device is not in use, remove the flasks
and replace them with new flasks at startup. Do not refill the humidification
flasks.
Used humidification flasks are classed as infectious waste. Dispose of all
infectious waste in a biohazard container or bag. Do not put sharps in
biohazard bags.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not fill the flask above the max fill line. If
overfilling occurs, the water from the flask may overflow into the chamber.
If water overflows into the chamber, replace the whole humidification flask
assembly (K-MINC-2000-HF).
IMPORTANT NOTE: To avoid water spillage inside the unit, remove the
humidification flask assembly from the bay before moving the MINC+.
4.10.1 Humidification flask components
Two humidification flasks are included with the MINC+. They are supplied
sterilized with ethylene oxide (EtO) in a sealed pouch. Each pouch
contains the following items:

IMPORTANT NOTE: If the humidification flask packaging is damaged,
the flask may be contaminated, so discard the flask and open a new one. To
avoid contamination, do not open the humidification flask packaging until
you are ready to install the flask.
4.10.2 Filling the flasks
WARNING: Failure to attach the flask T-piece correctly may result in a
loss of gas flow to the chambers.
1. Under laminar flow conditions and using aseptic techniques, remove
the components from the packaging.
2. Place the temporary support clip on the work surface and push the
humidification flask down into the clip until engaged with the recess
on the bottom edge of the reservoir. Slide the top latch back to the
position shown below.
3. Insert the disposable funnel as shown below.
