INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
d. Pull the traction rope from the bowtie down and underneath the bar.
NOTE: The bar has an indentation to help keep the rope in position during cervical
traction.
WARNING:
The maximum weight load for the traction assembly is 50 lb (22.6 kg). To exceed
this weight could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment damage.
WARNING:
Make sure the traction weight is in a safe position, free from possible unintended
movement. Failure to do so could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment
damage.
WARNING:
Do not press the Cervical Traction Release button while traction weight is being
applied. To do so could cause the assembly to retract and the traction weight to
move. Patient fall, injury, or equipment damage could occur.
6.
Use traction weight per facility protocols. Make sure that—
• The traction weight is in a safe position such that it is free from possible
unintended movement.
• The traction rope stays in the indented section of the cervical traction bar.
• You do not press the Cervical Traction Release button while traction weight is
being applied.
NOTE: The cervical traction bar is an optional accessory that is supplied to help with the
angle of pull for the cervical traction. If used, install the bar at the applicable location on
the H-bracket.
7.
After use of the traction weight, remove the weight and the rope from the assembly.
8.
Press the Cervical Traction Release button, and then push the assembly into the
column so that it is in the locked-in position.
