c. Make sure that the lateral top pad is attached securely to the lateral top.
6.
Do a function check on the lateral top:
a. Make sure that the Lateral Surface Up/Down pendant controls move the leg
section of the lateral top up and down.
WARNING:
The Drawsheet (A-71706) must be placed on the lateral top before you place the
patient on the lateral surface for any surgical procedure that requires a lateral-
to-prone transfer. Patient injury can occur if patient rotation is done without the
use of the Drawsheet.

Put the Drawsheet on the lateral top. Refer to the instructions included with the
Drawsheet.

Air Bladder and Pump
1.
If necessary, insert the air bladder in the lateral top pad. There is a sleeve with a
Velcro® closure built into the lateral top pad.
2.
If necessary, connect the air bladder to the air hose on the lateral top.
3.
Connect the hose to the air pump and to the air manifold
at the head end of the lateral top.
4.
Connect the air pump to a wall power outlet.
CAUTION:
Do not inflate the air bladder to more than 5 psi (0.03 MPa). Equipment damage
can occur.
5.
Turn on the pump and inflate the air bladder. When the air
bladder is inflated to the desired thickness, turn off the
pump and disconnect the pump tubing from the lateral
top.
6.
To deflate the air bladder, activate the deflate control on
the air manifold at the head end of the lateral top.
