INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
WARNING:
Observe lines closely during articulations. Always use good line management
techniques. Failure to do so could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment
damage.
WARNING:
The lateral-to-prone assembly does not support the patient's head. A caregiver
must support the patient's head during the lateral-to-prone rotation and
maintain correct head position. Patient injury can occur.
7.
Make sure of these, and then follow facility protocols to manually rotate the support
tops 90°:
• There is a sufficient number of persons available for the patient to be rotated.
• Persons and equipment will not be in the way of the support tops when they
are rotated.
• To watch the lines so that they do not get pinched or caught during the
rotation.
• The patient's head stays in the correct position during the rotation.
• At least one caregiver is in a position where he or she can hold on to the prone
surface and help it to lower gently.
WARNING:
Make sure that a caregiver relieves the weight from the flip handle mechanism.
Failure to relieve the weight can result in difficulty releasing the flip handle and
sudden movement of the lateral-to-prone configuration. Patient injury or fall and
equipment damage can occur.
8.
Have a caregiver gently lift up on the rail top with prone support set to relieve the
weight from the flip handle mechanism. Relieving the weight will reduce the risk that
the mechanism will bind and suddenly release.
