INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Install the Lateral Top
NOTE: You may have to adjust the length of the Allen Advance Table so that the columns
are at the correct distance apart to fit the support top. Refer to "Adjust the Length of the
Allen Advance Table" on page 35.
NOTE: The lateral top will only install on the lateral bracket. If the H-brackets or a Advance
Pinless H-Bracket are installed on the table, go to "Install the Lateral Bracket" on page 42.
WARNING:
Make sure that you put the patient's head at the head end of the lateral top. The
foot end of the lateral top is not designed to support the weight of the patient's
torso. Personal injury, patient fall, and/or equipment damage can occur.
1.
Position the head end of the lateral top at the head end of the Allen® Advance
Table.
• The head end of the Allen® Advance Table is the end with the control panel.
• The head end of the lateral top is the end that does not articulate, and has the
air manifold.
2.
At each end of the lateral top, install a cross pin into the
lateral bracket, through the lateral top connector
assembly, and the other side of the lateral bracket. Make
sure that the cross pins that secure the lateral top are in
the same orientation as the cross pins that secure the
lateral bracket.
WARNING:
Do not use the lateral top without the cross pins installed correctly through the
lateral bracket. To do so could cause patient fall, injury, or equipment damage.
3.
Make sure the drop lock on the end of the cross pin moves to the side to hold the
support top in position.
4.
Connect the lateral top power cord to the lateral top power port at the foot end of
the Allen® Advance Table base unit.
5.
Install the lateral top pad on the lateral top.
a. At the foot end of the lateral top, insert the retaining posts in the slots.
b. Align the head end of the lateral top pad with the end of the lateral top and press
down to secure the Velcro® fasteners.
