ENGINE STARTING
Starting a cold engine
1. Be sure that the transmission gearshift
lever is in NEUTRAL. Depress the
clutch pedal.
2. Pull out the choke knob all the way,
and
start cranking the engine by
operating the ignition key. (Be sure
not to depress the accelerator pedal
at this time.)
3. As soon as the engine starts, release
the key and the clutch pedal.
4. Push the choke knob gradually to the
position where the engine runs smooth-
ly without stalling. Keep the engine
running in this condition until the
coolant
temperature
on the temperature meter.
5. As the temperature rises to "C", push
in the choke knob back all the way,
and
lightly
depress the accelerator
pedal.
6. After the temperature rises to "C",
you're ready to drive.
NOTE: If the engine is very cold, pump the ac-
celerator pedal t w o or three times before crank-
ing. Using the pedal this way will help the
engine fire up.

CAUTION:
(1) Turn off the starter prompdy
when the engine fires up.
It is hard on the starter to keep
it running when the engine has
started to run by itself.
(2) Do not crank the engine more
than 5 seconds at a time. If first
cranking
seconds (to let the battery recoup
its strength) and then try again.
(3) Do not "race" a cold engine after
starting.
Starting up a hot engine
Do not pull the choke knob. Depress the
rises
to
" C "
accelerator pedal just a little and turn
on the starter. Do not pump the pedal.

LANCEMENT DU MOTEUR
Lancement du moteur à froid
1. S'assurer que le levier de changement
de
vitesse
est
au
Enfoncer la pédale d'embrayage.
2. Tirer à fond la tirette du starter et
lancer le moteur en tournant la clé de
contact. (Ne pas appuyer encore sur la
pédale d'accélérateur.)
3. Dès que le moteur démarre, relâcher la
clé de contact et la pédale d'em-
brayage.
4. Enfoncer progressivement la tirette de
starter jusqu'à la position où le moteur
tourne régulièrement sans caler. Laisser
tourner le moteur jusqu'à ce que la
température du liquide de refroidisse-
ment atteigne le point " C " sur le
thermomètre.
5. Lorsque la température atteint " C " ,
enfoncer à fond la tirette du starter, et
appuyer
légèrement
sur la
d'accélérateur.
6. Une fois que la température atteint à
"C", le véhicule est prêt à démarrer.
NOTE: Si le moteur est très froid, appuyer â
plusieurs reprises sur la pédale d'accélérateur
avant de le lancer. Ceci facilitera son démarrage.
