Processing instructions
Step 3:
ATTENTION! Special Instructions
Manual disinfection and the machine reprocessing process in the FUJIFILM medwork
WD and WD-E are described below as potential reprocessing processes. The opera-
tor must specify which of the three reprocessing processes must be used based on
the user-dependent classification.
Equipment for manual disinfection
Disinfectant:
non-protein-fixing
validated: gigasept AF forte
article number: 125603)
Water:
fully deionised water (DI water, in accordance with KRINKO/
BfArM recommendation free from facultative pathogenic
microorganisms)
Disposable syringe:
20 ml syringe, validated: B. Braun, article number:
4606205V
Sink:
sink for DI water
Sink:
sink for disinfectant
Disposable cloth:
lint-free disposable cloth
Option 1: Manual disinfection
Prepare the disinfectant solution (validated: gigasept AF forte®2%) as directed by the
manufacturer. Use freshly prepared solution for every disinfection. Immerse the
instrument completely in the disinfectant solution. Then rinse the lumen once with the
disinfectant solution using a 20 ml syringe. Fill the lumen with disinfectant solution with
no air bubbles. Observe the soaking time in the disinfectant solution as directed by
the manufacturer's instructions (validated gigasept AF forte® 2%: 15 minutes).
Remove the instruments from the disinfectant solutions and place them in a sink with
DI water for at least 1 minute. Rinse the lumen at least once using a 20 ml syringe to
flush out completely the disinfectant solution residue. Repeat the process once with
fresh DI water. Wipe the instruments with a lint-free disposable cloth and dry them
with medical compressed air
Equipment for machine cleaning and disinfection in the WD
(washer-disinfector):
Washer-
disinfector:
washer-disinfector in accordance with DIN EN ISO 15883-
1 /-2 with thermal programme (temperature 90°C to 95°C)
Cleaner:
mild alkaline cleaner, validated: Ecolab, Sekumatic©
MultiClean)
ATTENTION! Special Instructions
Perform manual cleaning before every machine reprocessing (WD).
Option 2: Machine cleaning and disinfection in the WD
Lay or position the individual parts in a suitable mesh tray or rack so all internal and
external surfaces of the instruments can be cleaned and disinfected. The instruments
must be attached to the rack (e.g. MIC device trolley) to ensure that the internal
lumens are rinsed. The attachment must be checked to ensure that it is tight before
starting the machine and at the end of the process. Close the washer-disinfector and
start the programme.

Regulators may specify different processing regulations in their areas of
responsibility (parameters for disinfection performance).
Remove all medical devices at the end of the programme. Check that the load is dry
and if necessary dry the load with medical compressed air. After emptying the WD
inspect the load to make sure that it is clean. If contamination is still visible, steps 2
and 3 of the reprocessing instructions must be repeated.
Equipment for machine cleaning and disinfection in the WD-
E (washer-disinfector for endoscopes):
Washer-disinfector:
Washer-disinfector for endoscopes in accordance with DIN
EN ISO 15883-4 with chemical-thermal programme
(temperature 50°C to max. 60°C)
Disinfectant:
virucidal (VAH or at least DVV-listed) instrument disinfectant
based on aldehydes, validated: 0.5% Dr. Weigert neodisher
endo CLEAN and (1%) Dr. Weigert neodisher endo SEPT

ATTENTION! Special Instructions
Perform manual cleaning before every machine reprocessing (WD-E).
Option 3: Machine cleaning and disinfection in the WD-E
Lay or position all instruments and individual parts in a suitable mesh tray or on a rack
so all internal and external surfaces of the instruments can be cleaned and disinfec-
ted. The instruments must be attached to the rack (e.g. MIC device trolley) to ensure
that the internal lumens are rinsed. The attachment must be checked to ensure that it
is tight before starting the machine and at the end of the process. Push the rack into
the WD-E, close the door and start the programme.
