3. IGNITION COIL

For removal/installation see page 12-1.
a. INSPECTION
<Primary side>
Measure the resistance of the primary coil by attaching the
ohmmeter leads to the ignition coil terminals.
Primary side resistance
<Secondary side>
Measure the resistance of the primary coil by attaching the
ohmmeter leads to the ignition coil terminal (Black) and the
other to the spark plug cap end.
Secondary side resistance
• SPARK PLUG CAP
Measure the resistance of the spark plug cap by touching one
end of a test lead to the wire end and the other to the spark
plug cap end.
Resistance
12-7
1.8 – 2.2 Ω
13.2 – 19.3 kΩ
7.5 – 12.5 kΩ
