Figure 1. Caudal view of thorax - Correct (left) and incorrect (right) placement
Neck and Left Leg Electrodes
The neck and left leg EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes should be vertically aligned to maintain an orthogonal relationship to the other four
EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes. The neck EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode can easily be placed at the midline. Placement of the left leg
EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode on the inner thigh is recommended to achieve as near of a midline location as possible. Any other placement may
skew the vertical orientation.
NOTES:
None of the EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes should overlap each other or overlap any other surface electrodes.
Edge-to-edge contact with ECG electrodes should not create interference.
Avoid direct contact of any EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes with an RF (radiofrequency) return patch.
Surface Electrode Placement
Figure 2. Device placement
1.
Place the EnSite™ System Reference Electrode on the patient's abdomen as shown in the figure above.
2.
Place the V2 ECG electrode at the 4th intercostal space, left sternal edge.
NOTE: Avoid pressing on the center of the ECG electrode. Smooth the ECG electrodes down using a circular motion.
3.
Place each EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode on the patient per the illustration printed on the foam of the EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode.
See the device placement diagram above for proper placement. The orientation of the EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode leads is not important.
NOTES:
Grasp an area away from the lead wire when removing the liner from EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes.
It is recommended to place the front EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrode first.
Press firmly on the center of the EnSite Precision™ Surface Electrodes with a circular motion to ensure proper contact.
4.
Place the remaining ECG electrodes on the patient.
5.
Connect each surface electrode lead to EnSite Precision™ system hardware as instructed in the EnSite Precision™ Cardiac Mapping System IFU.
NOTE: The EnSite™ System Reference Electrode must be the first patient electrode connected to the EnSite™ system hardware at the
beginning of a study and the last patient electrode to be disconnected at the end of the study.
PRS Patch Placement
1.
Remove the liner from the underside of the PRS patch, exposing the adhesive.
2.
Place a PRS patch on the front and back of the patient as shown in the figure above.
