1.4.4 Balancing and fitting coupling halves and pulleys
As standard, balancing of the motor has been carried out using the half key.
Coupling halves or pulleys must be balanced after the keyways are machined. Balancing must be done in accordance
with the balancing method specified for the motor.
Coupling halves and pulleys must be fitted on the shaft using suitable equipment and tools which do not damage the
bearings and seals.
Never fit a coupling half or pulley by hammering or removing it by using a lever pressed against the body of the
motor.
1.4.5 Mounting and alignment of the motor
Before you begin
Ensure that there is enough space for free airflow around the motor. Having a clearance between the fan cover and
the wall etc. of at least ½ of the air intake of the fan cover is recommended. Additional information may be found

About this task
HDP motors for frame sizes of 200, 225, 250, 280, 315, 355 and 400 are designed by default according to IEC 60034-7
for IM B3 installation.
