5. Check that all bolts are tightened, in particular the bolts that connect the locking wedge to the cylinder
and spring guides in the hydraulic version, the locking bolt(s) in the mechanical version (Table 6 on page
69) and the locking bolt in the spindle version (see Table 7 on page 70).
6. In the case of a hydraulic version, check for leaks and damage to the hydraulic system and the locking
cylinder.
7. Check the entire CW quick coupler and, if present, the grapple suspension for damage, such as
deformations or cracks. Replace or repair any damaged or broken parts before starting work (see
Section 6.2). Welding may only be carried out with the permission of Eurosteel BV.
8. If present, check the lifting hook
and its welds for deformations and
cracks.
Check that the safety valve is
present. This is closed by the force
of the springs, and is pushed tightly
against the top of the hook as
shown in Figure 35.
Working with a deformed or
cracked hook, or a hook without a
properly closing safety valve, is not
permitted.
9. Check the presence and legibility of
the warning sticker and the nameplate.
10. Check the operation of the CW quick coupler by unlocking the locking wedge once and locking it without
the attachment.
