2 SAFETY

THE CW QUICK COUPLER IS BUILT ACCORDING TO STATE-OF-THE-ART METHODS AND IN ACCORDANCE
WITH THE MACHINE DIRECTIVE. NEVERTHELESS, USING IT CAN POSE A DANGER OF BODILY INJURY OR
EVEN DEATH OF THE USER OR THIRD PARTIES. IT CAN ALSO CAUSE DAMAGE TO MACHINES OR THE
SURROUNDINGS.
THIS CW QUICK COUPLER IS CE APPROVED. CW QUICK COUPLERS MAY ONLY BE COUPLED TO A
MACHINE IF THE ENTIRE MACHINE AND ANY ATTACHMENTS TO BE COUPLED BEAR CE APPROVAL.

2.1 WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS

1. This CW quick coupler may only be assembled, disassembled, operated, maintained or repaired by skilled
personnel, with due observance of the warnings on the CW quick coupler and the entire user manual.
2. This CW quick coupler is exclusively suitable for the applications and conditions stated in Section 1 of this
manual. Eurosteel BV does not authorise any other use. Any other use may put the operator and the
surroundings at risk.
3. This CW quick coupler must never be used for moving or lifting people, either with or without an
attachment.
4. This CW quick coupler works as a link between the excavator and the attachment. The CW quick coupler is
not intended for work without attachments, with the exception of work using the optional lifting hook.
5. It's not allowed to modify this quick-coupler without written approval from Eurosteel BV. In case of a
modification without written approval the CE mark and all other warranty expires.
6. The coupler may only be mounted on the excavator specified on the nameplate, or, if a quick coupler
adapter is present, only on the quick coupler system specified on the nameplate.
7. A hydraulic CW quick coupler may only be connected to a dedicated hydraulic quick coupler circuit, with
conditions and specifications as described in Section 1.5. Any other use invalidates the CE approval mark on
the CW quick coupler.
8. The machine must always be switched off during work on the CW quick coupler. Beware of the danger of
crushing between moving parts of the CW quick coupler.
9. An attachment may only be coupled or uncoupled from the operating position by the excavator's operator.
10. The CW quick coupler and coupled attachment may only be used for work if the locking wedge is locked.
11. It may be the case that your excavator is used as a lifting machine, hoist, foundation machine etc. instead
of as an excavator, through the use of the optional lifting hook, the optional grapple suspension, or coupling
the appropriate attachments. This may require additional safety measures on your machine. Consult your
machine supplier for more information.
12. The CW quick coupler, the optional lifting hook and the optional grapple suspension may only be loaded as
described in Section 1.4. It is possible that the maximum permitted loads of the CW quick coupler, the
optional lifting hook, the optional grapple suspension or the attachments to be coupled are different to the
maximum permitted loads of the excavator. None of these permitted loads may be exceeded at any time.
