1.4 PERMITTED LOAD

The maximum permitted load of the CW quick coupler depends on 4 different situations:
1. Maximum positive torque with respect to the front shaft of the quick coupler: see Figure 4. This load is
normally caused when the bucket cylinder is extended, or when the arm is moved towards the cabin.
2. Maximum negative torque with respect to the front shaft of the quick coupler: see Figure 4. This load is
normally caused when the bucket cylinder is retracted, or when the arm is moved away from the cabin.
3. Maximum permitted load of the optional lifting hook, see Section 1.4.1.
4. Maximum permitted load of the optional grapple suspension, see Section 1.4.2.
The difference between a positive and a negative torque is the direction in which the load acts on the CW quick
coupler, as shown in figure 4. These torque values are calculated by multiplying the distance (in metres) from the
point of application of the load by the mass of the load and the attachment (in kg). Table 2 shows the maximum
allowable load for each situation.

MAXIMUM PERMITTED LOAD FOR THE EXCAVATOR. NONE OF THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED LOADS
MAY EVER BE EXCEEDED!
THE MAXIMUM PERMITTED LOADS ONLY APPLY WHEN THE EXCAVATOR IS ON A FLAT SURFACE AND
STABLE. IN ANY OTHER APPLICATION, REDUCED STABILITY, AND CONSEQUENTLY A LOWER
PERMITTED LOAD, MUST BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT.
