CW QUICK COUPLERS FOR EXCAVATORS

5.1.2 COUPLING THE MECHANICAL OR SPINDLE VERSION
1. After completing steps 1 to 6 in Sections 5 and 5.1, continue to step 2.
2. Position the CW quick coupler in such a way that the locking wedge can be removed or the spindle
operated without anyone being on or below the CW quick coupler.
3. Switch off the excavator.
4. Unlock the mechanical version according to the instructions below in 4A, and the spindle version
according to the instructions below in 4B.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO BE ON OR BELOW THE CW QUICK COUPLER OR ATTACHMENT WHILE UNLOCKING
OR REMOVING THE LOCKING WEDGE.
4A. Mechanical version
The locking wedge must be completely removed. The locking wedge can weigh up to 45 kg, so depending
on the type of CW quick coupler it must be removed by 2 people. Remove the locking wedge by
loosening the locking bolt(s) (see Section 1.3.2). See
locking wedge and specifications of the locking bolt(s)
4B. Spindle version
Remove the locking bolt (see Section 1.3.3) and rotate the spindle out until the locking wedge is fully
extended.
5. Retract the bucket cylinder, and position the
CW quick coupler in front of the attachment
as shown in Figure 20
be positioned in such a way that the coupling
points for the front shaft are at the top and
are clearly visible.
IN CASE OF A MECHANICAL VERSION, THE LOCKING WEDGE MUST BE FULLY REMOVED. IN CASE OF
A MECHANICAL VERSION, CHECK THAT THE LOCKING WEDGE IS FULLY RETRACTED.
