5.2 UNCOUPLING ATTACHMENT

Attachments may only be uncoupled from the operating position of the excavator. Follow the instructions
below. If in doubt, contact the supplier of the CW quick coupler.
1. Before any work on uncoupling the attachment begins, the safety regulations in Section 2 must be
complied with.
2. Make sure the excavator is level and stable.
3. To uncouple a attachment from the CW quick coupler, proceed to step 4. To uncouple a attachment
from the optional grapple suspension, go to Section 5.2.3.
4. Disconnect any hoses or cables between the attachment and the excavator. Before doing this, switch
off the excavator and make sure that the couplings and plugs are put away clean and undamaged.
5. Position the attachment in a way that
relieves any load on the locking wedge, and
allows the attachment to remain suspended
on the machine when the lock is opened. This
is shown in Figure 26.
6. To uncouple a attachment from a hydraulic
CW quick coupler, follow the steps in Section
5.2.1. For a mechanical or spindle version,
follow the steps in Section 5.2.2
BEFORE UNLOCKING STARTS, POSITION THE
ATTACHMENT IN A WAY THAT PREVENTS IT
BECOMING DETACHED FROM THE CW
QUICK COUPLER WHEN THE LOCKING
WEDGE IS UNLOCKED.

5.2.1 UNCOUPLING HYDRAULIC VERSION

1. Continue after steps 1 to 6 in 5.2 have
been completed.
2. Unlock the locking wedge as shown in
Figure 27. Operate the locking wedge
cylinder from the operating position in the
excavator according to the hydraulic
control system instructions.
