5.1.3 COUPLING AN ATTACHMENT TO THE OPTIONAL GRAPPLE SUSPENSION

The optional grapple suspension is produced with customer-specific dimensions. Only attachments designed for
this specific grapple suspension may be coupled. If in doubt, contact the supplier of the CW quick coupler.
1. Continue to step 2 after completing steps 1 to 6 in Sections 5 and 5.1.
2. If an attachment is coupled to the grapple suspension, no other attachments may be coupled to the CW
quick coupler. Uncouple these first, as described in Section 5.2.
3. Make sure that the points to be coupled are clean and undamaged.
4. Position the grapple suspension in line with the coupling point of the attachment to be coupled, making
sure that the attachment can be coupled without anyone being on or below the CW quick coupler or
the attachment.
5. Switch off the excavator.
6. Insert the pin associated with the attachment, and couple the attachment to the grapple suspension.
Secure the pin according to the grapple instruction manual.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO BE ON OR BELOW THE CW QUICK COUPLER OR ATTACHMENT WHILE
COUPLING THE ATTACHMENT TO THE GRAPPLE SUSPENSION.
7. Lubricate the coupling point in the grapple suspension and any other lubrication points.
8. Connect any hoses or cables from the attachment to the excavator, making sure that couplings and
plugs are clean and undamaged.
9. Before starting work, make sure that the attachment does not touch the machine in any position.
10. When working with the coupled attachment, always follow the instructions associated with the
attachment.
