4 MOUNTING

A CW quick coupler is only designed to act as a link between an excavator and an attachment. The CW quick
coupler may only be mounted on the excavator specified on the nameplate. If a quick coupler adapter is present,
the CW quick coupler may only be used on the quick coupler specified on the nameplate.
ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND WARNINGS LISTED IN SECTION 2 AND 2.1 MUST BE RESPECTED BEFORE
STARTING WORK WITH OR ON THE CW QUICK COUPLER.
THIS CW QUICK COUPLER IS CE APPROVED. CW QUICK COUPLERS MAY ONLY BE COUPLED TO A
MACHINE IF THE ENTIRE MACHINE AND ANY ATTACHMENTS TO BE COUPLED BEAR CE APPROVAL.

4.1 MOUNTING ON EXCAVATOR

A CW quick coupler designed for mounting to a machine has excavator-specific attachment points. The
nameplate indicates the machine for which these attachment points are suitable. For more, see Section 1.1. The
CW quick coupler must be mounted on the excavator by skilled personnel. Mount the CW quick coupler to the
excavator in accordance with the instructions below.
1. Mount the CW quick coupler in a clean, safe environment.
2. Place the CW quick coupler in front of the excavator, and use
the excavator to position the H-link between and in line with
the rear mounting points (see 1 in Figure 9). Insert the
machine pin together with any O-rings and shims.
3. Position the arm between and in line with the front mounting
points (see 2 in Figure 9), and insert the machine pin together
with any O-rings and shims.
4. Fit the original excavator pins and any O-rings and shims
according to the machine manufacturer's instructions.
ONLY CHECK ALIGNMENT VISUALLY, NEVER WITH YOUR
FINGERS
5. Secure the original excavator pins in the designated locking points on the CW quick coupler as specified
by the excavator manufacturer (see 3 in Figure 9 as an example)
6. Lubricate the excavator pin mounting points and other lubrication points. If necessary, consult the
excavator manufacturer's instructions.
7. Carefully extend and retract the bucket cylinder to its limits, checking that the CW quick coupler does
not touch the excavator at the same time. Contact your CW quick coupler supplier immediately if the
bucket touches the excavator.
8. In the case of a hydraulic version, go to Section 4.3 for an explanation of connecting the CW quick
coupler to the designated hydraulic circuit on the excavator.
