PREVENT PARTS OF THE CW QUICK COUPLER TOUCHING THE GROUND
9. Position the CW quick coupler with the attachment in such a way that the attachment hangs stably, and
the locking wedge can be mounted or the spindle operated without anyone being on or below the CW
quick coupler.
10. Switch off the excavator.
11. Lock the mechanical version as described in 11A, and the spindle version as described in 11B.
IT IS PROHIBITED TO BE ON OR BELOW THE CW QUICK COUPLER OR ATTACHMENT WHILE UNLOCKING
OR REMOVING THE LOCKING WEDGE.
11A. Mechanical version
Lock the attachment by mounting the locking wedge in the position shown in Figure 24 on the next page.
The locking wedge can weigh up to 45 kg, so depending on the type of CW quick coupler it must
therefore be removed by 2 people. Then install the locking wedge by placing the locking bolt(s) (see
Section 1.3.2). See Table 6 for the weights of the locking wedge and specifications of the locking bolt(s).
Tighten the locking bolt(s) to the torque specified in Table 6, then go to step 12.
