A fuse of 15 or 20 A can be mounted on the station circuit. A one-way diode installed
on the docking station avoids the discharging of the booster towards the vehicle.
A green LED is assembled at the top of the docking station and indicates the
recharge of the booster -> shows the good connection to the vehicle's battery.
Note: During the recharge one of the 2-voltage detection LED's remains switched on.
The station must not be hung up. The angle made by the base of the bracket
and the fixing point must be 90 °. This fixation must be sufficient to resist to a
wrenching of 50 kg (magnets).
4. OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
4.1 To start a vehicle
Ignite OFF and all electrical devices (heating, lighting...) before using the booster.
Check first if the negative terminal is connected/grounded to the chassis. If not,
contact your reseller.
1.
The voltage selector must be disconnected !
2.
Connect the booster: Connect the red clamp (+) to the positive terminal
(+) of the battery, then connect the blue/black clamp (-) to the earth/
chassis of the vehicle (a heavy gauge metal part of the frame or engine
block. Do not connect to the carburetor or fuel lines).
3.
Selection on the voltage: Select the voltage of the vehicle to start. From
this moment there is current on the clamps.
4. Start the engine: For maximum 8-10 seconds, then wait for 3 minutes
before a second attempt.
5.
Disconnection of the clamps: Having started the engine, disconnect the
blue/black (-) clamp followed by the red (+) clamp.
6.
Disconnection of the voltage: Disconnect the voltage selector.
7.
Storing: Return the output cables and clamps to their support posts on
the booster.
8.
Recharging: After use, recharge the booster immediately !
4.2 Auxiliary connector for the models F - G or optional
The auxiliary connector allows connecting a cable with a special plug to start a
vehicle equipped with the same plug instead of using the clamps of the booster
for connection.
4.3 Starting attempt
When using the booster to start an engine, do not crank for more than 8-10 seconds,
and wait for a further 3 minutes before a second attempt. Three reasons:
To allow the voltage of the booster batteries to build up again.
To allow the renewal of gases inside the batteries.
To allow the internal components of the batteries to cool down.
If you do not wait and/or the starting attempt is too long, you risk losing power,
you reduce your starting possibilities by the second attempt and you risk melting
the power fuse.
If after the 3rd attempt the engine does not start, it may be necessary to identify a
further cause for the break down. Insisting will short the battery life of the booster.
5. PROTECTIONS
5.1 Reverse polarity
If the polarity is not right, the buzzer will give a warning signal under the following
conditions:
If the remaining voltage, in the battery of the vehicle, is at least 4 V.
If the voltage selector is not connected.
