3. RECHARGE THE BOOSTER
Recharging the booster batteries, following the instructions described in this
manual, increases its efficiency and its lifetime ! NEVER wait until the booster is
completely discharged before recharging.
The booster must be imperatively put on permanent charge between use. Because
below 12,4 V, the booster batteries will start to sulphate and lose performance. The
lower the voltage, and the longer the time spent in a discharged state, the deeper
the sulphation. When not in use, the booster batteries must never drop below
12,4 V (well-charged = 13 V).
Use only the original provided charger to recharge the booster. NEVER recharge
the booster on a non-automatic garage charger or on an automatic charger set on
«fast charge» or «boost» position. You risk overcharging the booster and higher
than 14,7 V, hydrogen may form inside of the batteries, resulting in risks of explosion.
3.1 Booster model A - B - C - D - E: with charger AC/DC
A charger AC/DC is supplied with the booster. Connect the charger to the supply
mains, then connect the charger to the booster via the 4-pole charging plug. We
highly recommend leaving the booster permanently connected to the charger, to
maintain correct charge level.
For the instructions and technical information, please refer to the user's manual
provided with the charger.
3.2 Booster model F - G: with AC docking station for workshop
Supplied with an AC/DC charger. The simple fact of putting the booster back (F)
or connecting it (G) into its docking station allows it to be charged. Ideally, the
booster must be charged permanently.
For the instructions and technical information, please refer to the user's manual
provided with the charger.
Note: During the recharge one of the 2-voltage detection LED's remains switched on.
3.3 Booster model F: with DC docking station for vehicle
Developed to be connected to battery terminals of a recovery vehicle. The simple
fact of putting the booster back into its docking station allows it to be charged. For
a well-charged booster, the voltage must be between 14 and 14,4 V, engine running
at about 2000 rpm for a 12V vehicle (between 28 and 28,8 V for a 24 V vehicle).
Your station is delivered unconnected for recharge. Please follow the instruction
hereunder for the connection, depending on the recovery vehicle's voltage.
Connection DC 12 V or 24 V on the station
Follow the diagram stuck on the station.
Warning: This connection must correspond to your vehicle's voltage. After the
connection of the station following the diagram (12 V or 24 V), place the metallic
protection plate.
Connection on the vehicle
This must correspond to the voltage you chose for the station and the voltage of
the vehicle.
Connect the black cable to the negative terminal of the battery (or the earth).
Connect the red cable to the positive terminal of the battery.
For this, use the cables lugs supplied for this purpose, if necessary.
