Securing the Trial Lead
1. Carefully withdraw the insertion needle
from the epidural space by slowly pulling
the needle up towards the proximal end of
the lead while holding the lead in place.
2. Once the insertion needle tip is exposed,
hold the lead as close to the percutaneous
exit site as possible, then carefully pull the
needle completely from the lead.
3. If desired, a suture may be used to close
the wound and stabilize the lead.
4. Place and tape a stress relief loop and
dress the wound.
5. If using a splitter, continue to "Lead Con-
nection to Splitter" page 21.
6. Continue with "Connecting to the Trial
Stimulator" on page 32.
