3.6 COMPOSITION OF EXTENSION POLES
The following section shows the composition of the extension poles compatible with the tool described in this
manual, as illustrated in fig.4, while the table displays the name of the elements making up the product with
relative functional description.

3.7
GENERAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS
This paragraph describes the general operating characteristics of the product purchased.
The battery-powered POWER 58 or POWER 58 PLUS electromechanical power unit is a product designed to drive
harvesting tools.
The "products table" diagram (par. 2.1.1) summarises the range of products that are compatible with the power unit.
The power unit combined with the extension pole and the harvesting head constitutes the generic type of complete
tool that is intended for harvesting olives and coffee.
The power unit is equipped with an energy-saving and mechanical parts protection system (system not intended for
use with ICARUS model harvesting head).
The system automatically reduces speed 6 seconds after leaving the tree foliage, thus reducing consumption. By
reinserting the tool in the foliage, it automatically restarts at the set speed.
The power unit can be powered by two types of battery, 12V lead-acid or 58V lithium, which is inserted in the wearable
backpack. The battery capacity (Ampere) only determines the operating time. The power unit consists of the handle
housing, the gearmotor, and the control circuit board.
On the body of the handle are the ON-OFF switch, which controls the switching on and off of the tool, the speed
selector 1080 - 1150 – 1180 rpm, which allows the rotation speed of the motor to be varied, and a red LED for
checking the on or off status.
A connector is fitted on the body, which connects the power unit with the battery pack via a power cable. In the case of
the Lead battery, the cable is 13 m long and has connecting terminals. For the lithium-ion battery the cable is 1.5 m
long. At the top of the handle body there is a clamp on which to fit the extension pole, fixed or telescopic, which
transmits motion to the tool.
