AVENTICS | Bus Coupler AES/Valve Driver AV, Ethernet POWERLINK | R412018143–BAL–001–AF
Proceed as follows during addressing.
Ensure that each address exists only once on your network and note that the addresses 0xF0–
0xFF or 240–255 are reserved.
1. Disconnect the bus coupler from the power supply UL.
2. Set the station address at the switches S1 and S2 (see Fig. 5). For this, set the rotary switch
to a position between 1 and 239 for decimal or 0x01 and 0xFE for hexadecimal:
– S1: High nibble from 0 to F
– S2: Low nibble from 0 to F
3. Reconnect the power supply UL.
The system will be initialized and the address applied to the bus coupler. The IP address of the
bus coupler is set to 192.168.1.xxx, where "xxx" corresponds to the setting of the rotary switch.
The subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0 and the gateway address to 0.0.0.0. Address
assignment via the "Browse and Config" tool is deactivated.
Table 24 contains a number of addressing examples.

Address setting with the "Browse and Config" tool

1. Disconnect the bus coupler from the power supply UL before changing the positions of switches
S1 and S2.
2. Once you have done this, you can set the address to 0x00.
After the bus coupler is restarted, the address can be set via the "Browse and Config" tool.
The CD R412018133, included on delivery, contains the "Browse and Config" tool. The tool can also
be downloaded online from the AVENTICS Media Center.
To set the address, you need a computer with a Windows operating system and a network card that
allows you to assign it a permanent IP address, as well as a network cable with an RJ45 connection
and a D-coded, male, 4-pin M12 plug.
Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the network card to the fieldbus connection of the bus coupler that you would like
to assign an address to.
