Troubleshooting
Table 35:
Table of malfunctions
Malfunction
Possible cause
When setting
A save process was triggered on the bus
the address 0x00,
coupler before the address 0x00 was set.
the address was not
reset to the standard
address (0x03).
Module produces cycle
Cycle time set to less than 1 ms and
error
more than 42 objects mapped
UL LED flashes red
The electronics supply voltage is less
than the lower tolerance limit (18 V DC)
and greater than 10 V DC.
UL LED illuminated red
The electronics supply voltage is less
than 10 V DC.
UL LED is off
The electronics supply voltage
is significantly less than 10 V DC.
UA LED flashes red
The actuator voltage is less than
the lower tolerance limit (21.6 V DC)
and greater than UA-OFF.
UA LED illuminated red The actuator voltage is less than UA-OFF.
IO/DIAG LED flashes
The number of configured output objects
alternately green/red
that are mapped to the PDO is smaller
than the existing number of modules.
IO/DIAG LED

IO/DIAG LED flashes
There is no module connected to the bus
red
coupler.
There is no end plate present.
More than 32 electrical components
are connected on the valve side
(see section 12.5.3 "Impermissible
configurations" on page 120).
More than 10 modules are connected
in the I/O zone (see "12.6 Conversion of
the I/O zone" on page 121).
The module circuit boards are not
plugged together correctly.
A module circuit board is defective.
The bus coupler is defective.
The new module is not recognized.
S/E LED illuminated
Severe network error present
red
Address assigned twice
Remedy
Perform the following four steps:
1. Disconnect the bus coupler from
the voltage and set an address
between 1 and 239 (0x01 and 0xFE).
2. Connect the bus coupler to the
voltage and wait 5 seconds, then
disconnect the voltage again.
3. Set the address switch to 0x00.
4. Re-connect the bus coupler
to the voltage.
The address should now be set
to the standard address (0x03)
(see section 8.2 "Changing
the address" on page 32).
Increase cycle time to at least 1 ms
or map fewer objects
Check the power supply at plug X1S.
Configure the correct number of objects.
Check modules.
Connect a module.
Connect an end plate.
Reduce the number of electrical
components on the valve side to 32.
Reduce the number of modules
in the I/O zone to ten.
Check the plug contacts of all modules
(I/O modules, bus coupler, valve drivers,
and end plates).
Exchange the defective module.
Exchange the bus coupler
Contact AVENTICS GmbH (see back cover
for address)
Check network.
