9 Presettings on the Bus Coupler
The following presettings have to be made:
Setting the address on the bus coupler (see section 9.2 "Setting the address on the bus coupler"
on page 88)
Setting diagnosis messages (see section 5.5 "Setting the bus coupler parameters" on page 80)
The address is set via the switches S1 and S2 below the window.
Diagnostic data reports are activated and deactivated with parameters (see section 5.5 "Setting the
bus coupler parameters" on page 80).
The baud rate is determined by the master and therefore not set on the bus coupler.

Opening and closing the window

Defective or improperly positioned seal!
Water may enter the device. The protection class IP65 is no longer guaranteed.
Make sure that the seal below the window (3) is intact and properly positioned.
Make sure that the screw (25) has been securely tightened with the correct torque (0.2 Nm).
1. Loosen the screw (25) on the window (3).
2. Lift up the window.
3. Carry out the settings as described in the next steps.
4. Close the window. Ensure that the seal is positioned correctly.
5. Tighten the screw.
Tightening torque: 0.2 Nm
9.2

Setting the address on the bus coupler

Because the bus coupler operates exclusively as a slave module, it must be assigned an address in
the fieldbus system.
The bus coupler address may be set between 1 and 126. If the address is 0 or above 126, the bus
coupler automatically sets the address to 126 and the IO/DIAG LED flashes green.
Each address must be unique within the network. It is not possible to assign addresses twice within
the PROFIBUS DP.
