Setting the bus coupler parameters

The characteristics of the valve system are influenced by the different parameters that you set
in the controller. You can use these parameters to determine the responses of the bus coupler
and the I/O modules.
This section only describes the parameters for the bus coupler. The parameters for the I/O zone are
explained in the system description of the individual I/O modules. The system description of the bus
coupler explains the parameters for the valve driver boards.
The following parameters can be set for the bus coupler:
Response to an interruption in Ethernet POWERLINK communication
Response to an error (backplane failure)
Sequence of the bytes

Parameter structure

Bit 0 is not assigned.
The response to an Ethernet POWERLINK communication problem is defined in bit 1
of the parameter byte.
Bit 1 = 0: If the connection is interrupted, the outputs are set to zero.
Bit 1 = 1: If the connection is interrupted, the outputs are maintained in the current state.
The response to an error in the backplane is defined in bit 2 of the parameter byte
(see section "5.5.3 Error-response parameters" on page 87).
Bit 2 = 0: See error response option 1
Bit 2 = 1: See error response option 2
The byte sequence of modules with 16-bit values is defined in bit 3 of the parameter byte (SWAP)
Bit 3 = 0: 16-bit values are sent in big-endian format.
Bit 3 = 1: 16-bit values are sent in little-endian format.
The parameters for the bus coupler in
object 0x2010, sub-object 1 stand for access as a byte,
object 0x3010, sub-object 1 stand for access as a string,
These objects can be accessed for writing.
With a B&R controller, the byte can be assigned an initial value under "device-specific parameters".
This is transferred on start-up of the device.
