MAINTENANCE
The MAGURA brake oil filled in is not subject to aging. The MAGURA
rim brake therefore does not need to be vented or refilled regularly
in normal operation. If it is nevertheless necessary, e.g. due to a de-
fective brake line, have this only done by qualified specialist using
the respective special tools.
SETTING THE PRESSURE POINT/COMPENSATING BRAKE LINING
WEAR
You can adjust the pressure point of the brake at the brake lever.
This work must be performed to compensate for brake lining wear.
1. Turn the screw
in clockwise to bring the brake linings closer
96
to the rim flank. The pressure point at the brake lever now starts
earlier. You may need a Torx 25 wrench for this work.
EXCHANGING THE BRAKE PADS
Exchange the MAGURA brake pads at once when the depth of the
groove on the brake lining is less than 1 mm
1. Turn the screw back counter-clockwise
2. Push the lever
of the quick-clamp down to open it (OPEN).
98
3. Take the brake cylinder
4. (If necessary), remove the wheel.
5. Pull off the worn brake pads.
6. Clean the brake pad holder.
7. Insert the new brake pads into the holder until they latch.
8. Install the wheel again if you removed it.
9. Push the brake cylinder
10. Close the quick-clamping lever
the lever closes too easily, the quick-clamping screw must be ad-
justed.
SETTING THE QUICK-CLAMP
1. Push the lever
of the quick-clamp down to open it (OPEN).
98
2. Turn the quick-clamping screw in 1/4 turn clockwise.
3. Close the quick-clamping lever
4. Repeat the process if the lever still closes too easily.
