7.1.
General safety information
DANGER
Risk of serious personal injury, property damage and even death due to working on
and with an improperly connected or defective kiln.
7.2.
Instructions for testing the kiln
⇒ You must carry out the initial test when you start up the kiln and, in any case, before starting the firing
operation.
⇒ You must carry out the test before restarting the kiln or if it has not been used for a long time.
⇒ In industrial operations, the kiln and the control system must be checked by a qualified electrician for
correct and perfect functionality in accordance with DGUV Regulation 3 (German Social Accident Insurance)
or the corresponding national regulations of the country of operation before initial use and at appropriate
intervals.
⇒ Make sure that no unauthorised persons are in the work area during the test.
⇒ Indicate that checks are being carried out (e.g. with a sign) on the kiln or lid.

The protective conductor and potential equipotential bonding line are adequately dimensioned and

securely connected.

The control unit is securely connected to the kiln.

The control unit bracket is mounted securely and sufficiently far away from hot surfaces.

The electrical wiring is in perfect condition.

The warning signs are attached correctly.

Observe the traffic routes and sufficient clearances at the operating location (e.g. industrial trucks)

View port plugs included and correctly inserted into the view port
⇒ Check the kiln and the control unit to ensure they are in proper and perfect
condition before using the equipment for the first time.
⇒ The kiln should be checked regularly (at least once a year) to ensure it is in perfect
working condition.
⇒ The tests should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
⇒ When used in industrial operations, the following also applies: Define the test
cycles based on the risk assessment.
